Adding a Codicil
It is important to ensure that your Will contains specific wording if you intend to leave a gift to the Hospice. If you are planning to leave St Margaret’s a legacy please include our full name St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and our registered charity number 279473
Suggested Wording for your Will
Sample Wording:
‘I give to St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice (registered charity number 279473) (the ‘Charity’) for its general charitable purposes…
(choose your preferred option)
- a ……….% share of my estate
- the sum of £……………. free of tax
- all the residue of my estate
- a ………..% share of the residue of my estate
- a specific gift of (name of item or items)
The receipt of the treasurer or other appropriate officer for the time being of the Charity shall be a good discharge to my Executors.’
Will making and changing is a technical job which requires technical skills. St Margaret’s recommends that all Wills and Codicils should be prepared or checked by a Solicitor.
