St. Margaret's Charity Walk

The St. Margaret’s Somerset Hospice Third Annual Charity Walk, which took place on a wet and windy Sunday in May, has now raised the fantastic sum of £25,000 in sponsorship.

St M's Walkers Some 350 walkers showed their support for the invaluable work of the local charity which has such a great impact on the quality of life of patients and their families. Despite torrential rain and chilling winds, walkers clocked up hundreds of miles between them, traveling along the footpaths and bridleways of Somerset. 25 valiant supporters trekked the full distance of 34 miles between the charities hospices in Taunton and Yeovil.

In spite of the bad weather on the day, most of the walkers commented on what a good walk this was, suitable for both novice and experienced walkers, with a route that gave many a chance to see their local area from a different perspective. We are very grateful to all the walkers who took part despite the awful weather conditions. This fantastic success reflects the tremendous hard work done by the organisers and the team of volunteers who marshaled the route. We hope that many more people will take part next year, helping us to fund the wonderful care and support which St. Margaret’s offers to all local people. Martock Registration
