LocationWilliton - Minehead

This is a unique opportunity to safely walk along a 10 mile stretch of the West Somerset Railway from Williton to Minehead and enjoy the beautiful coastal views whilst raising money for the West Somerset Steam Railway Trust and St Margaret's Somerset Hospice.

Participants need to be relatively fit and come equipped with strong shoes or walking boots. A train will run the length of the line both before and after the walk, allowing you to start at any station and be transported to the starting point (and back from the finishing point.)

If you would like to take part in the West Somerset Railway Sponsored Walk please send a cheque for £5 (made payable to the "West Somerset Steam Railway Trust"), a stamped addressed envelope and a note saying which station you will be starting from to:

Mike Webber, 21 Underhill Road, Charfield, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 8TQ

You will then receive your official West Somerset Steam Railway Trust sponsorship form. You can choose to split your sponsorship money 50/50 between the West Somerset Steam Railway Trust and St Margaret's Somerset Hospice by ticking the relevant box on the sponsorship form.

All walkers must be over 12 years of age, and those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The diesel train picking up participants at the start of the walk leaves Minehead at 9am, calling at all stations to Williton, then proceeding straight to Bishops Lydeard. The train departs from Bishops Lydeard at 10:30am calling at all stations to Williton. At the end of the walk, a complementary hot drink will be provided at Minehead Stations's Brunel Buffet before the diesel train collects all the walkers at 4pm to deliver them back to their stations of origin all the way down the line to Bishops Lydeard.
