Sometimes people get the wrong impression about what a hospice is all about. It is important to us to dispel the myths about the care that we provide.

MYTH - Hospices are gloomy places.

MYTH - Only patients suffering with cancer are cared for by St. Margaret’s.

MYTH - People only go to stay in St. Margaret’s in Taunton and Yeovil when they are about to die.

MYTH - St. Margaret’s receives all its income from the government

MYTH - St. Margaret’s Somerset Hospice delivers care solely from the hospices.

MYTH - St. Margaret’s Somerset Hospice is part of the Macmillan cancer charity

MYTHS - St. Margaret’s care is only available to patients with private health insurance policies
