Supporting Loss and Bereavement
Delivered at a professional level, this six-day course is solidly based in current theory and thinking. It will explore the evidence and recent discussions about the best ways to support people in bereavement and grief, providing opportunities for experiential learning and skills practice. Please come expecting to invest in the group’s growth and development over the six weeks by active participation and sharing your own experience and learning.

Suitable for: Specifically designed for anyone who has a role in supporting people who are experiencing loss and bereavement.
Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will:
- Understand the theory and evidence base for effective bereavement support
- Have had opportunity to explore the concepts of self and self awareness in relation to loss
- Be able to identify and work within legal and ethical boundaries for safe client centred bereavement support
- Understand the concepts of individual coping styles and the support needs of bereaved clients
- Understand their own limitations and support needs, use supervision more effectively, and know when to refer on
