Session 1: What is palliative and end of life care? - Tuesday 10 September 2019

Covering the history of the hospice movement, the holistic model,
human rights and future planning.

Session 2: Pain - Wednesday 18 September 2019
Covering the causes, assessment and management of physical, psychological and complex pain.

Session 3: Gastrointestinal - Thursday 26 September 2019
Covering the causes, assessment and management of gastrointestinal symptoms.

Session 4: Skin - Wednesday 9 October 2019
Covering wound care and the management of malignant fungating wounds and lymphoedema assessment and management.

Session 5: Palliative care emergencies and nutrition & hydration - Wednesday 16 October 2019
Covering causes, assessment and management of medical emergencies, management of nutrition and hydration in end of life care.

Session 6: Psychological, spiritual and respiratory - Monday 21 October 2019
Covering psychological support in palliative care and the challenges faced and exploring the contribution of spiritual care to symptom control (including spiritual pain). This session will also include multidisciplinary approaches to managing breathlessness and low energy.
