Colourful chaos for all the family On Sunday 29th May the greatly anticipated St. Margaret’s Great Somerset Colour Run was held for the 2nd year. Over 1450 participants were covered in colourful powder paint while enjoying the beautiful sunny weather. Richard Wallace, Events Manager at St. Margaret’s, said “We had a brilliant day seeing everyone dressed up in tutus, bunny ears, and sunflowers, and getting covered in powder paint, all in aid of St. Margaret’s. So far the event has raised in excess of £20,000 in sponsorship and we’re hoping to double that figure in the next few weeks.” Through the event St. Margaret’s are hoping to raise enough money to run their clinical services across the whole county for a week. If you haven’t sent your sponsorship money in, please send a cheque, along with your sponsorship form, to St. Margaret’s Hospice, Little Tarrat Lane, Yeovil, BA20 2HU, or if you have cash this can be handed in, in person, at the same address. St. Margaret’s Hospice would like to say a massive “THANK YOU” to all of the wonderful volunteers who helped make the day such a great success, as well as the 1450+ participants for taking part in such an amazing event. We would also like to thank the following, without whom the day wouldn’t have been possible: Hazlegrove School, Clarks International, Events Crew, 1610, Richard Harvey, Miles Tea, Yeovil Running Club, Blakes Envelopes, Nuffield Health and Screwfix. Facebook has been alive with everyone’s stories and photos from the day! See if you can spot your team! Take a look at St. Margaret's other events coming up later this year.
