Put the kettle on, it's Time for Tea St. Margaret’s Hospice is asking Somerset to make ‘Time for Tea’ and host a tea party with friends and family while raising money for the hospice. Sharon Pavey, Community Fundraiser for the Taunton area, was invited along to a Taunton Cricket Club, (sponsored by Cooper Associates) practice match. The team were only too happy to promote the benefits of making ‘Time for Tea’. “Breaking for tea in Cricket is a great tradition - it gives us time to catch our breath, discuss tactics and get to know our team mates,” said Melvyn Gale, Taunton Cricket Club Chairman. Sharon is also hosting a tea party, open to everyone, in the Sunflower Day Centre at St. Margaret’s Taunton hospice. Tea, coffee and cake will be served in return for a donation. “Please come along on Thursday 11th May between 10am and 12pm, for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. We will also have a raffle, crafts and gifts for sale,” says Sharon. Each year St. Margaret’s supports over 3,200 people – in our In-patient Units in Taunton and Yeovil and through our Community Teams visiting patients in their own home. St. Margaret’s needs to raise in excess of £7.5m from the local community to continue these services, ensuring that everyone who needs care and support to face a life-limiting illness receives it.
