Somerset golfers prove up to par St. Margaret’s Charity Golf Day at Enmore Golf Club in Bridgwater proved to be a resounding success after raising thousands of pounds for the Somerset hospice. The day was held on Monday 22nd August in the sunshine with teams of three competing for prizes, and has raised nearly £2,500 for the charity. Sonia Bateman, Events Project Lead at St. Margaret’s Hospice, said “It was a fantastic day that had the added bonus of raising a brilliant amount for the hospice. St. Margaret’s cares for over 3,200 people facing a life-limiting illness each year and needs to raise £7.5million to provide this care, so events like these really contribute to reaching this target. “I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the teams that entered and helped to make this such a successful day.” Congratulations to the winners of the men’s competition, Pardoes Solicitors’ team, made up of Richard Flack, Nigel Fry and Simon Havens, and to the winners of the women’s competition, Enmore team, made up of Diana Webster, Julie Blumgart and Christine Hannam.
