The large majority of people in Somerset know someone who has been cared for by St. Margaret’s. In fact, 1 in 3 people in Somerset will need the support of St. Margaret’s in their lifetime. So, how many people do we actually care for? Here’s our work in figures…

Between April 2015 – April 2016:

  • We cared for 3,751 patients - 2779 of these were palliative patients
  • We provided care and support to 458 friends and family
  • 23,852 consultations took place in the community
  • 8173 nights were spent on our In-patient Unit
  • 6524 calls were taken by our 24 hour Advice Line

Currently, it costs £11.8million every year to provide this care.

Without the support of our generous Somerset community, thousands of people across Somerset would not receive our outstanding, vital care. If you would like to donate to ensure we are able to continue to provide this care, which may be needed by someone you know, please click here.
