Representatives of Somerset businesses gained an insight into the work of St. Margaret's Hospice at our latest Wake up to Business networking breakfast.

Marisa Lovell-Fox, Head of Fundraising, welcomed guests to our Taunton hospice and provided an update on upcoming fundraising events and sponsorship opportunities, including the Great Somerset Ball and Up, Down & Dirty.

Clinical Director Joy Milliken spoke about how St. Margaret's Hospice makes a huge difference to the quality of life of patients and their families across Somerset, explaining how effective symptom control can help people with life-limiting illnesses to enjoy experiences they thought were no longer possible.

Kevin Parsons, Managing Director of event sponsors Cooper Associates Accountants, gave a presentation on how technology is changing the world of accountancy and why cloud-based bookkeeping platforms are proving increasingly popular with small business owners.

The support of Somerset's business community is hugely important in helping our charity to continue caring for thousands of people across the county who are affected by life-limiting illnesses each year. After NHS funding, St. Margaret's Hospice needs to raise £9.5m each year in order to deliver our care.
