As nurses, we want to give our patients the care they need, whenever they need it – but we don’t have the resources to cover home visits on weekends and bank holidays.

Could you be the ray of hope in someone’s life this Christmas with a gift of £25 and help us make an urgent visit to our community patients when they need us most?

We urgently need to fund a nurse to cover weekends and bank holidays - when patients and their families often feel most vulnerable at home.

This Christmas, you can give the gift of care by helping to fund an additional nurse who will enable us to respond when local people need us most. Your Christmas gift of £25 could make a huge difference, enabling a nurse to make a home visit on a weekend or bank holiday.

Thank you so much for supporting St. Margaret’s Hospice and helping us to make people comfortable, give them their dignity and allow them to stay in their own home if that is where they want to be.

With your kind support, we hope to launch this vital new service in our community as soon as possible.

As you know, Somerset is a very large community, and we will have to prioritise the urgent visits we can make at weekends and on bank holidays until we are able to secure significantly more funding for more nurses.

You can always speak to a registered nurse by calling our adviceline on 0845 070 8910 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We continue to work closely with the district nurses and out of hours GPs to ensure people needing urgent care get the help they need.
