St. Margaret’s Hospice has been at the heart of Somerset’s community for over 35 years, delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness. We are dedicated to making each day count for all of our patients and their loved ones.

Through our medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, we provide physical, emotional and spiritual care. With two hospice sites; one in Yeovil and one in Taunton, as well as five community-based teams caring for patients in their own homes, we continually strive to reach everyone in the community that needs our care.

How to Refer

100% of the care and support we provide is free of charge.

We encourage patient referrals from healthcare professionals, but we also accept self-referrals from patients, families and carers too. Please note that, for self-referrals, we will need to speak to a healthcare professional involved in your care to ensure we have all relevant information.

Please call our 24-hour adviceline to make a referral*: 0845 070 8910

Where possible, please call within working hours to make a referral. Our adviceline can provide information and access to our full range of services including our In-patient Units, Home Care and Day Care.

Our 24-hour adviceline is also available for professionals, patients and carers who are looking for support. Our clinicians can give immediate symptom control advice and are able to offer support at any time of the day and night.

*Please note that when calling our 0845 number this will cost 2ppm (inc VAT) service charge (the minimum charge as stipulated by Ofcom), plus the access charge which is dependent on your carrier. From a landline, calls to 0845 numbers are significantly cheaper depending on what package you have. Some mobile providers charge as much as 45ppm service charge to access this service which is beyond our control.
