Bishop Peter joins Glitter Run Remix in Wells There were smiles all around as hundreds of people got covered in glitter, bubbles and colourful powdered paint while raising vital funds for St Margaret’s Hospice. The second of our three Glitter Run Remix events this summer took place on Sunday, June 9, at the Palace Fields in Wells, a stone’s throw from the Bishop’s Palace. More than 400 people completed the 5k fun run, running the gauntlet of two foam-filled bubble stations and two where they were showered with biodegradable glitter, before a powder paint party after they crossed the finish line. Some of them were taking part in memory of relatives or friends. The Bishop of Bath and Wells, the Rt Revd Peter Hancock, who became a patron of St. Margaret’s Hospice last year, was among the runners. He tweeted: “Supporting @st_marg hospice in the 5k glitter run. Never seen so many fairy wings, unicorns and tutus in my life @BathWells. People running to remember family and friends.” Supporting @st_marg hospice in the 5K glitter run. Never seen so many fairy wings, unicorns and tutus in my life @BathWells. Places, costing £18 for adults and £15 for children, can be booked here. Sonia Bateman, events fundraiser at St Margaret’s Hospice, said: “We would like to thank our wonderful supporters for turning out in their hundreds for our Glitter Run Remix events in Wincanton and Wells. It was brilliant to see families and friends having so much fun, and we’re looking forward to doing it all again in Taunton next month. “By taking part in the Glitter Run Remix and raising sponsorship they are helping us to care for people across Somerset who are facing a life-limiting illness.” For more information and to book your place at the Glitter Run Remix in Taunton, click here.
