St. Margaret’s Hospice is one of the largest hospices in the UK and is the leading provider of end of life care services in Somerset. We are offering exciting opportunities and experience as we progress our ‘Hospice without Walls’ strategy, providing the right care in the right place at the right time ensuring that the care we provide always has the patient at its centre.

You will:

  • provide specialist palliative nursing care, advice and information that is patient-centred, holistic and quality driven, implementing the Hospice philosophy to ensure optimum quality of life for all patients across all clinical settings;
  • offer advice and support to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological and social needs of families, carers and bereaved relatives;
  • assist in managing, operating and supporting a 24/7 service for health care professionals, patients and carers, by providing appropriate clinical and non-clinical palliative care advice and support, within the boundaries of the service;
  • Assist in managing referrals in our central referral centre.

The post-holder must have:

  • RN1 / 2 qualification or equivalent.
  • ability to travel to different sites and communities within the county.
  • flexibility to work across a range of care settings and shifts, including evenings and weekends.
