• Full time (37 hours) part time hours or job share considered
  • Salary £35,401per annum (pro rata for part-time) including unsocial hours enhancement

The main purpose of the role is:

  • To provide dynamic clinical and managerial nurse leadership to the In-patient Unit. The job is ward based and incorporates role modelling specialist palliative nursing care for patients that is patient – centred, holistic and quality driven. 
  • Responsible for the management of nurse development including induction, mentorship, clinical supervision and facilitating appropriate course attendance and work based learning.
  • Manage efficiently and effectively all aspects of the In-patient Unit including activity levels, use of human and financial resources and appraisal of staff performance.
  • To assist the Nursing Lead with overall responsibility for the clinical and managerial nursing service for the In-patient Unit. Negotiating and accepting delegated clinical and administrative activities from the Nursing Lead.
